Brook Trout
This is the only native trout in the Appalachian Mountains. The Brook Trout is also known locally as a Speckle Trout, in fact it is scientifically classified as a char. I caught and released this one in the fall. during this time Brookies become extremely colorful in order to attract a mate to spawn with.
